
Pickle Pasta Salad

Cook the pasta:
Boil [[dry shell pasta (about 3 cups)]] al dente according to package directions. Run under cold water to stop cooking. -
Pickle juice soak:
Toss the cold [[dry shell pasta (about 3 cups)]] with about ½ [[pickle juice]] and set aside for 5 minutes. Drain and discard [[pickle juice]]. -
Make the dressing: Combine in a small bowl:
- [[mayonnaise]]
- [[sour cream]]
- [[cayenne pepper]]
- [[pickle juice]]
- [[salt & pepper to taste]]
- Assemble the salad: In a large bowl, toss:
- [[dry shell pasta (about 3 cups)]]
- [[sliced pickles]]
- [[cheddar cheese, diced]]
- [[finely diced white onion]]
- [[fresh dill]]
- the prepared dressing
- Chill:
Refrigerate at least 1 hour before serving.
