Pickle Pasta Salad

  1. Cook the pasta:
    Boil [[dry shell pasta (about 3 cups)]] al dente according to package directions. Run under cold water to stop cooking.

  2. Pickle juice soak:
    Toss the cold [[dry shell pasta (about 3 cups)]] with about ½ [[pickle juice]] and set aside for 5 minutes. Drain and discard [[pickle juice]].

  3. Make the dressing: Combine in a small bowl:

  • [[mayonnaise]]
  • [[sour cream]]
  • [[cayenne pepper]]
  • [[pickle juice]]
  • [[salt & pepper to taste]]
  1. Assemble the salad: In a large bowl, toss:
  • [[dry shell pasta (about 3 cups)]]
  • [[sliced pickles]]
  • [[cheddar cheese, diced]]
  • [[finely diced white onion]]
  • [[fresh dill]]
  • the prepared dressing
  1. Chill:
    Refrigerate at least 1 hour before serving.
